Alex’s WTA Miami Preview – Collins vs Pera

Posted on

It’s tennis time in Florida with a WTA 1000 event in Miami. Danielle Collins faces Bernarda Pera for the first time in their careers in round one. Pera lost her second qualifying match but was able to get into the main draw as a lucky loser. Collins is playing her first match in Miami but has had plenty of time to get ready after losing to Iga Swiatek in the second round of Indian Wells. I expect a competitive match and more specifically a competitive first set. The full match total is 20.5 games and even though it’s juiced to the over it is a fine bet, but there is a better one. WTA matches generally have more games in the 1st set and less games in the 2ndset. Whether it be fatigue, the better player finding more angles to attack later in the match, or the losing player’s effort dropping, 2nd sets tend to be quicker. As for these two women, they play competitive 1stsets. Collins has played 10 or more games in 13 of her 19 matches and Pera has played 10+ games in 11 of her 20 matches this season. I make the total in the 1stset just under 10 games and we get a chance to bet over 9.5 games at 2.15(+115) which looks like a good price to me. I’m also going to sprinkle a small bet on over 10.5 games as well at 4.05(+3.05).

Suggested Bet
0.75U – Danielle Collins/Bernarda Pera 1st Set Over 9.5 Games 2.15(+115) 0.25U – Danielle Collins/Bernarda Pera 1st Set Over 10.5 Games 4.05(+305)

Over 18s Only (21+ in some jurisdictions). 1 unit = 1% of bankroll. These are my bets that I am making. Please enjoy your betting responsibly. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and do not chase a loss.
