ATP Paris Masters 1000 Preview: Fucsovics vs Coric

Coric vs Fucsovics (Approx 09:00pm AEDT)

Considering I have Borna Coric as a sneaky darkhorse to make a deep run this week, I think these conditions and the match-up of Marton Fucsovics will suit him quite well in Paris.

Coric has looked very solid over the last couple of weeks of indoor hardcourt tennis, with losses coming to Andrey Rublev and Novak Djokovic (the motivated version). He has found ,an exceptionally good rhythm with his first serve, consistently hitting the mark upwards of 60% of the time. After a disappointing clay swing, he looks to have regained the form that saw him feature in the final 8 at the US Open.

Marton Fucsovics has had a bit of a hit-and-miss period on hardcourts since the tour resumed. You could argue his best performance on hardcourts since the tour resumed was defeating Grigor Dimitrov when the Bulgarian ran out of gas at the US Open. I just haven’t seen enough consistency in his game of late to consider him to be value of any kind today. Whilst it isn’t the worst surface, he will need to improve on his efforts from yesterday, where he trailed a set and 1-4 to Vasek Pospisil before claiming victory.

The -3 game handicap looks to be a solid play here for Coric. There is consistency in his form, and it is form around quality players in the conditions. Happy to jump in here in the slower conditions for 2.5 units. I have Coric making waves this week.

Suggested Bet

2.5 units Coric -3 games at $1.93 at Topsport
