Gavrilova vs Yastremska (Approx 01:00am AEST)
Whilst I am sitting here and watching the early matches of the day unfold, there is nothing about these conditions that screams enjoyment for Dayana Yastremska. In a unique twist on this match however, as Yastremska comes into this one with quite a significant fitness advantage against Daria Gavrilova.
It has been such a long time away from the game for Gavrilova, who made her return to the tour via qualifying in a rather competitive ITF level tournament last week. She looked pretty solid throughout, qualifying for the main draw and reaching the quarter final. After a long second round match, Gavrilova struggled to back up for the quarter final, losing to Tomova in straight sets. There were some fantastic signs during her return though, and she is the type of play who would be incredibly frustrating to play in these conditions.
I think it may take a bit longer for Yastremska to adjust and get a handle on the conditions, as well as adjust to the type of tennis that is coming from the other end of the court. Given this, and the fact I feel the fitness advantage in this one lies with Yastremska, I am more inclined to take Gavrilova to win the first set in this one. $3.50+ looks to be value, however given the lack of tennis from Gavrilova recently, I will stick to a small 1 unit staking. I also like her to win outright, however the preference currently lies with the first set from a value standpoint.
Suggested Bet
1 unit Gavrilova 1st set winner at $3.70 at Unibet
