Here is the performance matrix for the results from yesterday:
To quickly summarise:
- Kasatkina was pretty comfortable, thanks to racing out to a 5-0 lead in the first set. Siniakova did lead *3-2 in the second set, however was unable to consolidate and Kasatkina ran away with the match.
- The Hurkacz play was validated at the price when leading *5-3 30/0. He made hard work of the first set, however responded well in set 3 after a lopsided second set went the way of Rublev.
- The Martinez +3.5 game handicap felt like the right play, especially at 4-6 3-0, however costly double faults in key moments put him under pressure. The ML selection wasn’t close.
