WTA Rome Preview: Kasatkina vs Siniakova

Kasatkina vs Siniakova (Approx 07:00pm AEST)

I saw exactly what I wanted to see from Daria Kasatkina in round 1, and I now have the confidence to jump in and back her at the game handicap today.

The form of the Russian in round 1 against Vera Zvonareva was some of the best tennis I have seen from her in recent memory. She looked to have gained a lot of confidence from her two dominant qualifying wins, and it showed with an incredibly solid all-round performance to progress to the second round.

I just haven’t seen enough consistency in the game of Siniakova to consider her any value at the +3 game mark for this match. She copped a lacklustre Angelique Kerber in round 1, who doesn’t look to be getting along with clay too well at this stage of her career. It wasn’t an overly competitive match, but you can only beat who is in front of out.

Kasatkina’s ability to extend rallies by a further shot or two is so incredibly crucial in this match-up. Siniakova isn’t playing consistently well enough to hit through Kasatkina well enough here to be a significant threat in this match in my opinion, so I am happy to ride the momentum of Kasatkina coming off her best win in quite a while. I will back the -3.5 game handicap at over $2 for 2 units.

Please note, there is -2.5 games currently available at Bet365 however I don’t anticipate that lasting and will not be able to record that price.

Suggested Bet

2 units Kasatkina -3.5 games at $2.03 at Topsport
