Haase vs Kolar (Approx 09:30pm AEST)
I personally have Robin Haase as a favourite in this match, albeit a slight favourite, as I haven’t seen enough consistency in the game of Kolar to have him favourite in this style of match-up.
This is a big period for Robin Haase, as he tries to push his way back into consideration for a main draw spot at Roland Garros. Personally, I have taken a lot more out of Haase’s win over Machac yesterday than I did from Kolar’s dismantling of Hyeon Chung, who was returning after an extended layoff onto his least preferred surface.
Haase was able to win at least half of the points on both the first and second serves of Machac, which is an impressive feat. I was impressed with the well-rounded nature of his performance, and I would expect to see similar again today.
The experience of Haase here will be telling, and given he is looking to push towards a Roland Garros main draw spot, I am anticipating full effort from him today. The inconsistency I have seen from Kolar at times on clay over the last 12 months is enough to put me off him at the price on offer.
Happy to make this a 1 unit selection on Haase to cause the upset.
