Bautista Agut vs Rublev (Approx 07:30pm AEST)
The fact a grand slam is around the corner keeps this to a 1 unit selection, however I cannot let Andrey Rublev go around here as a favourite on clay against Roberto-Bautista Agut.
I am genuinely confused by Hamburg having their final on Sunday, the same day that Roland Garros commences, so this will be my last preview from Hamburg for the week. I have opposed Rublev on clay recently, and what I saw from the match between Rublev and Hurkacz, notably the third set, sticks in my mind whilst looking to their match-up today. If you can turn a claycourt match into a grind, and extend out rallies in a way that comes quite naturally to Bautista Agut.
Clay still does not seem to be comfortable surface at times for Rublev, however that has been masked a touch by coming up against Sandgren and Paul, neither with the right combination of style and patience to trouble Rublev on clay for long periods.
As mentioned above, this will only be a 1 unit selection, however RBA shouldn’t be an underdog here on clay in my opinion. Look for his consistency off both wings, and ability to remain patient in rallies and extend as necessary, to play a factor in the result of this one.
