Beating Denis Shapovalov doesn’t mean much these days, but the way Lorenzo Musetti fought back after getting outplayed for a set and a half on Saturday was convincing. The Italian never gives up until the final point is played and on slow courts, he’s also able to defend his backhand better. This play is more of a fade of Holger Rune though. Playing better overall, but he still gets unsettled for periods in every match. Against someone as gritty as Musetti, that could result in a topsy-turvy match. I do see Rune prevail, but Musetti snatching a set seems more likely than 54% to me.
