Vinny’s Challenger Lugano Preview – Pierre-Hugues Herbert vs Joris De Loore

Posted on

There was next to no line movement in the rematch between these two big-serving guys. Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Joris De Loore faced each other in Lille just four days ago with the Belgian emerging victorious as a 42% underdog. De Loore then proceeded to lose the final to Arthur Rinderknech in a thrilling third-set tiebreak where he had two match points on his own. With two players possessing a similar playing style, trying to play aggressive and ending points quickly, I have this closer to a coin flip. De Loore now leads the head-to-head 3-1 and while the market is expecting him to be fatigued after playing three three-setters last week, I think he was given just enough time to regroup and be ready for the next tournament. Rallies aren’t as exhausting indoors, especially when two big servers are squaring off. I’m expecting a close match here today, and therefore I’m taking the good old underdog/over combo.
