This is just me betting on the more talented and arguably already better player. Alexander Blockx came back from 3-6 4-4 *0-40 yesterday to beat #4 seed Leandro Riedi. Blockx faced two more break points at 3-6 5-5 *15-40 and while he was certainly vulnerable on serve, winning a match like this can release tension for the upcoming matches. Gijs Brouwer is a solid Challenger guy, however, he’s only 30-41 and 15-19 on indoor hards since the start of 2023. Blockx already possesses more weapons and I’m counting on the mental boost after yesterday’s win over Riedi, taking the former junior #1 at underdog odds.
