Jake’s Marseille Preview: Outright + Quarters

Posted on

Hey, guys.

Apologies for the late notice but the market availability on European tournaments has always been tricky pertaining to futures.

Let’s have a look at Marseille:

QUARTER ONE:

The 2023 champion predictably heads this quarter at odds on, although I think he’s probably a bit short. No doubt the Pole has excellent abilities on hart courts – no matter the parameters – but he’s a little too prone to a banana peel type loss early doors, and Shevchenko’s no easy out.

One guy I had a peek at was Andy Murray. I mean, I’m pretty invested in his ML price against Tomas Machac, but I think he’d be a slight favourite versus Musetti and I like the potential match-up with Hurkacz in a quarter-final.

Call me crazy but…

0.25 units Andy Murray to WIN quarter one @ $15 with Bet365

QUARTER TWO:

Quite an open and appealing section. I liked Ruusuvouri on first glance but I think I can get my money’s worth backing him in round 2 and round 3 at the money line quota.

Humbert clearly has an extremely high ceiling in conditions like this, and if Fokina can unlock his potential, he could be in the mix. I’ve read some commentary about Fokina’s poor results on indoor hard courts but really think the recent sample size is small and given playing style/low center of gravity, don’t see why he won’t perform here.

No bet for me, though.

QUARTER THREE:

Didn’t take me long to book something, here. Felix Auger-Aliassime saves his very best tennis for conditions like this and looks to have a couple of soft meetings early on. The quarter-final showdown against Khachanov or Agut would be tricky, but if the Canadian looks close to his best, he will be favourite against either.

1.5 units Felix Auger-Aliassime to WIN quarter three @ $3.40 with Bet365.

0.5 units Felix Auger-Aliassime to WIN Marseille @ $10 with Neds, $9.50 with Bet365.

QUARTER FOUR:

Let’s round things out.

Dimitrov anchors things at the bottom and boy was he impressive at Brisbane. Bit of a question mark regarding the Aussie Open loss to Borges but maybe just attribute that to overall physical/mental fatigue. A proper lay-off and some friendly conditions at Marseille should do the trick – not a betting proposition for me, though.

For the culture:

0.2 units Maxime Cressy to WIN quarter 4 @ $10 with Bet365
