This is priced as if Novak Djokovic is playing career best clay court tennis. Is he though?
Casting an eye over the three tournaments he has played on the clay this year, plus round 1 in Paris, and Novak holds a 6-3 record overall. He dropped a set to Van Assche in Banja Luka, lost a set to Dimitrov in Rome, and lost to Musetti, Lajovic and Rune on his way to Roland Garros. It’s not the best form leading into a grand slam, and I am not entirely sure that the night session conditions do him any favours either.
Fucsovics is by no means the best clay court player going around on tour, but he is more than serviceable. He has notched a couple of recent strong wins, inclduing over De Minaur, Krajinovic (x2) and Zeppieri, and was more than competitive in a 3 set loss to Fritz. He has the fitness to extend this match out, and in a similar fashion to Seyboth Wild last night, he has the tools to be a challenging out for Novak.
Novak should win, however he should not be $1.06.
