Other Tennis Thoughts – October 25

Other Thoughts

There are a number of selections that just missed the cut in today’s ATP and Challenger tennis. I have Andy Murray as slight value at the -2.5 game handicap at odds north of $2, however if you can find a price north of $2.10 I would recommend that for a small play. I know Stan Wawrinka’s level is not what it once was, but his best tennis for a burst in this clash with Ruud is more than capable of pushing the total games over the listed total of 22.5.

It was a very tired performance from Frances Tiafoe against Ruusuvuori last week, and I do wonder if the second half of the season is starting to catch up with the American after a whirlwind US Open. Hubert Hurkacz should be too strong based on indoor form, but I would only consider getting involved there if you have access to -2 games above $1.90.

Another to just miss the cut is Grigor Dimitrov against Monteiro, who is a little too one dimensional in my opinion for the conditions. The left handed serve of Monteiro will likely play right into the hands of the Dimitrov backhand, and he is also worth considering at the game handicap.
