Preview: I am still not completely solid on the Pliskova form, and when I am not sold on her form the week before a grand slam, on clay, against a player that is solid at covering the court and counterpunching, I am pretty comfortable in opposing her today.
Although the form of Kostyuk hasn’t been overly strong of late, I do like this style of match-up for her. Her losses have come against less powerful opposition, and for mine the Pliskova style will suit her far more here. With the Czech struggling against Bouzkova and Teichmann in her last two games, I am happy to oppose her here.
