WTA Rome Semi Final: Swiatek vs Sabalenka

Posted on

Preview: This is likely the last time I oppose Iga Swiatek for quite some time. I said I felt there was a potential for Swiatek’s streak to come to an end earlier today on Twitter, and I figure I need to put my money where my mouth is.

I can’t factor in the fact I think this is a great position for Swiatek to drop a match heading into Roland Garros, however I do feel as though Sabalenka is a genuine threat here in warm daytime conditions. There’s still some question marks around Sabalenka on serve, however I’m more comfortable jumping in with her price north of $5 with such question marks.

An alternative option here could be to take Sabalenka set 1, however I don’t mind her at the price with the pressure off coming into this one. If she loses in a flurry of unforced errors I’ll happily accept the loss, however in the conditions coming into Roland Garros she presents as value, particularly if she remains aggressive on the return of serve.
