Steve’s ATP Challenger Verona Preview: Popko vs Zeppieri

Posted on

Just the one unit play here, with Giulio Zeppieri slight value playing at home.

Zeppieri has been one of the players that has been able to take advantage of the Challenger tour residing in Italy for many weeks of the year. The 19 year old has put together a solid couple of months on the clay, producing quite a consistent level for a teenager. He responded to a poor start against Sachko in round 1, coming from a set down and taking the third set comfortably.

Here he gets Dmitry Popko, who is coming off a full week in Prague last week, and a straightforward win against Orlando Luz in round 1, who was also coming off a final in San Marino. The one-sided victory may have caused an overreaction here in the odds, as I have the odds here flipped around the other way.

It is also worth noting that Popko is set to head to New York in a couple of days for US Open, however I haven’t factored this into my pricing here. Just the one unit on Zeppieri here at even money.

Suggested Bet

1 unit Zeppieri to defeat Popko at $2 at Bet365
