A short and sharp preview to finish off the week. Things are likely to ramp up from tomorrow with a little more time on my hands.
Whilst I am certainly impressed with the week of Tomas Machac, I do think on 2021 form this looks to be a little too difficult for the Czech, compared to the majority of players he has faced and beaten in recent weeks. The win over Van de Zandschulp was impressive, but it is worth noting the poor first serve percentage from Botic which did have an influence on the one-sided result. Has a little bit too much been read into that semi-final? It has for mine.
When you cast an eye over the clay court tennis from Alex Molcan since the middle of May, it makes for some very impressive reading, both at Challenger and ATP level. Whilst both players have had a lot of success, I think the form lines in terms of opposition strength and overall performance is in favour of Molcan here, and I was expecting the game handicap here to sit at the -3 to -3.5 game handicap.
With the current game handicap sitting at -2 games, I am happy to get involved. I cannot overlook the recent form of Molcan, and I’m happy to jump in at the game handicap for 1.5 units.
Suggested Bet:
1.5 units Molcan -2 games vs Machac at $1.87 at Topsport (also like -2.5 games)
