Steve’s ATP Washington Preview: Opelka vs Galan

Posted on

I am not one to generally get involved in too many matches that involve Reilly Opelka, yet here we are with some value in the set betting market.

The value here looks to have come from a slight overreaction to Daniel Galan’s straight set win over Tommy Paul in the first round. Galan has had more success already this week than a lot of players who have returned on the quick back-up from the Olympics. Paul was out of sorts, and threw up one of his more disappointing recent performances.

Whilst I am not as sold on the game handicaps here for Reilly Opelka, the 2-0 set betting looks solid here at $1.83. He lost his serve only once through 5 tiebreaks against Fratangelo and Fritz, and in the Washington conditions he will be hard to break again.

Just the one unit here, with slight value on the American.

Suggested Bet:

1 unit Opelka 2-0 set betting vs Galan at $1.83 at Bet365
