Steve’s WTA Gdynia Preview: Parrizas-Diaz vs Frech

Posted on

Just a small play here, taking the form player and a player who looks to be a touch undervalued in the outright markets.

Nuria Parrizas-Diaz may have had a disappointing ending to her week in Prague last week, but should enjoy the return to clay, where she has looked incredibly solid over the last couple of months. She took the title in Bastad against a solid slate of players, as well as the ITF Grado title prior to her valiant attempt to qualify for Wimbledon (lost in the final round in 3 sets to Osorio Serrano).

It hasn’t been the most successful season for Magdalena Frech, and one that I would class to be on the disappointing side from what I have seen. Looking at the current form of Parrizas-Diaz, I am not sure there is a player that Frech has beaten this year on the clay that would be able to beat the Spaniard in this form.

If Parrizas-Diaz can continue to form she has displayed over the last couple of months, she wins here. Outside of Frech playing at home, this match-up doesn’t do her a lot of favours in my opinion.

Suggested Bet:
1.5 units Parrizas-Diaz to defeat Frech at $1.78 at Topsport
