September 14 Selections – Part 3

A couple more plays to finish off for today.

Coric vs Garin (Approx 09:30pm AEST)

Coric is on the quick back-up off his impressive efforts in the US Open, where he managed to make it through to the quarter final against Alexander Zverev.

I spoke about this match on the stream, and considering I have Garin to win this quarter as value,  so I also have him as value here in round 1.

We have seen over the last 18 months in particular just how strong Garin is on clay, and I think the US Open performances of Coric have contributed a little too much to the price.

More than happy to take Garin at the head to head price, with Coric on the quick back-up from New York.

Suggested Bet

2 units Garin to defeat Coric at $1.77 at Topsport

Ostapenko vs Linette (Approx 09:30pm AEST)

I have written about Magda Linette on a couple of occasions over the last couple of weeks, and there is nothing in her form on hardcourt that I believe that will translate to a poorer surface, especially against a player who is incredibly comfortable on clay in Jelena Ostapenko.

Whilst we haven’t seen much from Ostapenko since the tour was suspended, we know she is fit based on her Latvia/Estonia exhibition matches against Kanepi and Kontaveit. I have no issue with the fact she skipped the North American swing, and will have benefited from the time away from the court given what she had to endure in the early stages of this year.

This match is fairly and squarely on the racquet of Ostapenko, and I would prefer to take the match line than the game handicap in this one. Happy to play it for 2 units.

Suggested Bet

2.5 units Ostapenko to defeat Linette at $1.82 at Unibet

Teichmann vs Blinkova (Approx 10:30pm AEST)

If you listened to the show earlier today, you’d have spotted how confidently I was speaking in regards to the game handicap for Teichmann. I haven’t been impressed with Blinkova’s return since the tour resumed, and I don’t see the positives for her in this match-up against Teichmann, who continues to be underrated on clay despite winning titles.

I was expecting Teichmann to sit around the -5 game, so to have -3.5 games available is an exceptional line in my opinion. Look for her to exploit the movement struggles that Blinkova can have at times on clay, with her combination of movement, leftie angles and variety likely to be too much for Blinkova. I don’t rate the win over Voegele yesterday, so I am happy to oppose Blinkova here.

I will take this to the -4 game handicap personally for a bit of extra value for 3 units.

Suggested Bet

3 units Teichmann -4 games vs Blinkova at $1.92 at Topsport
