ATP Cincinnati (New York) – Struff vs Goffin

Struff vs Goffin (Approx 01:00am AEST)

He looked to slowly get a grasp for the conditions in the previous round against Borna Coric, and I feel as though Goffin covering the -1.5 game handicap against Struff today is solid value.

Alex De Minaur was below 100% on his return to the court earlier in the week, and Jan-Lennard Struff took full advantage. That effort from Struff, which looks to have been overrated a touch, coupled with Struff beating a poor returner of serve in Shapovalov, leads to Goffin being value at the game handicap today.

Whilst Goffin struggled moreso on the second serve of Coric, it was a great sign to see him able to win 45% of points on returning the first serve of Coric. After a tight first set, Goffin took control in set 2, winning 7-6 6-4 in 1hr49. He has solid court coverage, and I am comfortable backing him on the faster hardcourt. He is solid off both wings, which is necessary against Struff given his comfort level coming into the net as well.

I am happy to make a 1 unit selection on Goffin at the -1.5 game handicap. He has a strong head to head advantage on hardcourt over the last couple of years against Struff, he looked fit in his win over Coric, and he is a significant upgrade in terms of return of serve for Struff today. Goffin should progress if he is able to continue to build his form.

Suggested Bet

1 unit Goffin -1.5 games vs Struff at $1.80 at Topsport
