DraftKings Thoughts – US Open Day 6

Posted on

Below you will find a couple of suggestions for today’s slate on offer for DraftKings.

There are a couple of top, mid and lower tier players that may be worth considering (or avoiding) for your team today.

If you are interested, I have set up a contest on DraftKings. Here is the link ->  https://www.draftkings.com/draft/contest/75530282

TOP TIER ($9,000+)

ACE

Diego Schwartzman – Left-of-centre choice, however could really reap the rewards from a one-sided victory if he can grind down Sandgren.

Naomi Osaka – Should have too many weapons and be too strong for Gauff given her performance against Babos the other night. Predicting a statement match for Osaka.

DOUBLE FAULT

Rafael Nadal – Should be far too strong for Chung, however with a bit of an injury history, could have the score slightly reduced if a retirement comes into play.

Matteo Berrettini – $10,000 seems steep considering his form this week. Popyrin is no slouch, and this match could be closer than most predict if the Australian can find his serving groove early.

MIDDLE TIER ($7,000-9,000)

ACE

Marin Cilic – Whilst not at his best, seems to be heading in the right direction. Career hold percentage against Isner over the journey is exceptional, and slight edge in versatility compared to the American will come in handy.

Belinda Bencic – I wasn’t convinced by Kontaveit’s performance against Alja Tomljanovic, and Bencic could be the beneficiary today. Prefer Bencic against bigger strikers of the ball, and she did really well to come through a tricky challenge in Cornet.

DOUBLE FAULT

Donna Vekic – Putintseva is in form, and I don’t feel like Vekic is value at her salary level today. Match could be closer than many predict.

LOWER TIER (up to $7,000)

ACE

Yulia Putintseva – Genuine upset alert possibility here, as she looked very good against Vekic, who has started slow in both of the first two rounds. Value given the salary.

Kristie Ahn – You never know with Ostapenko, and Ahn has looked very solid over the last couple of weeks. This could help put your team over the top if Ostapenko puts in a shocker.

DOUBLE FAULT

Hyeon Chung – Real potential for a shocker today given his load over the last couple of matches, and I wouldn’t even be shocked if he withdrew or retired mid-match.
