This is a bit of a funny week on the tennis tour for a couple of reasons. Firstly it is a heavy schedule week of tennis across the ATP and WTA. In Umag, there are still 4 more rounds of tennis to be played, however there are a number of players in this draw that are scheduled to take part in the main draw of the Olympics. The draw for the Olympics is tomorrow, and the tournament itself is set to begin on Saturday, well before the Umag tournament wraps up.
Francisco Cerundolo is in the main draw for the Olympics, yet has found his way into the draw in Umag as the number four seed. He had a first round bye, and is coming off some indifferent performances first up back on the clay in Hamburg last week. He faces 19 year old wildcard Matej Dodig, who is priming himself for a decent showing here and comes off an upset win in round 1 against Couacoud.
Any other week and the odds here would only lead me to a very small play on Dodig, however given the situation Cerundolo finds himself in this week, I am happy to stake up a little more.
