ATP Queens – Draper vs Alcaraz

Posted on

I’ve come full circle with the Brit.

I am quite bullish on Jack Draper, especially on the grass, and even taking into consideration the physical issues that have led me to opposing him a handful of times over the last 18 months. He has looked exceptional on the grass, and my only knock on his form is the volume of tennis he has played over the course of the last week and a half coming into this one. The positive is he has certainly adapted to the surface again, whereas Alcaraz, coming off his Roland Garros title, has only the one match under his belt against Cerundolo. The ball will be coming on a lot faster today against Draper, and will still be somewhat of an adjustment for Alcaraz.

These odds look a little more accurate for a match at Wimbledon, but even then I think on the surface and given his form and game, Draper deserves to be sub $3. To summarise, Alcaraz is a deserving favourite, but I like this price for Draper. I think this may be one of the last times we see a price for Draper north of $3.50 at the moneyline for a while.

Another option would also be Draper first set.
