by Zeus O’Dea
The following words are the opinion of myself (Zeus O’Dea) only, and not of Steve, or the Ace Previews site in general. This series is about politics, betting, and how they intersect. In some pieces of writing, I’ll give political betting recommendations. In others, I’ll talk only about how certain things have shaped my betting philosophy when it comes to politics. Hopefully you get something out of both.

This is part two of a series of three (hopefully) articles that I’m writing about the elections held on Thursday the 2nd of May in the United Kingdom. This one will preview the East Midlands, North + North Yorkshire, and the North East mayoral elections.
Please note that, due to time constraints, I need to have this to Steve before he goes to bed (he kindly stayed up later to get this published). I won’t have time to explain the bets, so I’ll just add them here and create a tweet out a thread with explanations.
East Midlands
Labour $1.12 (true price $1.05) – Ladbrokes/WH/Star/Skybet
Labour Victory Margin over 14.5% $1.83 – BetOnline
York + North Yorkshire
Labour $1.67 – Skybet (rest are $1.44 which is too short)
North East
Thompson (against Donaghy) $2.35 – BetOnline
West Midlands
Richard Parker (Labour) $1.9 – BetOnline (my price roughly $1.5 – just stake down if getting $1.67 that’s widely available. Also betfair but no liquidity again.
