Vinny’s ATP Indian Wells Preview – Shintaro Mochizuki vs Aleksandar Vukic

Posted on

I’ll keep fading Aleks Vukic on courts that aren’t quick until he’s showing some kind of turnaround. As of right now, the Aussie is 1-6 on the year with his only win coming against Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez, who was offered 7 set points as a 20% underdog. Now Shintaro Mochizuki is a different caliber and won’t shy away from taking his opportunities. The Japanese also has a negative record in 2024, but his qualifying campaign (beating Schwartzman and Hassan in straight sets) offers a reason for hope. He’s the more consistent player and should be able to outgrind Vukic should the Aussie not suddenly find back his form.
