ATP New Delhi Challenger – Wong vs Vacherot

Posted on

It’s not all that often that I have a 2 unit selection.

It’s also not all that often that a 2 unit selection falls on an underdog.

Yet here we are.

I cannot ignore the price that is currently available for Coleman Wong. I’ve written about him a few times, and I feel as though the world number 241, at 19 years of age, has a lot of upside to his game. He comes in here after defeating Sasikumar in round 1, performing well even with a first serve percentage sub 50%. There is scope for improvement here, and I must admit I do have some question marks about Vacherot this week. He won the title in Pune last week, with the semi final going to 6-4 in the third, the final ending 3-6 7-6 7-6 and yesterday’s match end 6-4 6-7 7-6 in just under 3 hours. It was his equal 3rd lowest points won on first serve on hardcourt in the last 12 months, and with him looking a little less energetic at times with his footwork, I do have to question him being so short here against Wong.

Happy to make a 2 unit selection on the moneyline.
