Alexander Shevchenko appeals to me at $15 with LadBrokes and Bet365 and I think his SP profile is going to be a lot stronger than the market suggests.
The former Russian representative has decided to play for the Kazakh flag, and he can be forgiven for a scratchy appearance down under.
He was brilliant in a 2-1 win against Etcheverry in South Australian before being rolled by O’Connell, and then Munar in the first round of the grand slam.
At his young age and experience level, I think it will take some time before he can just rock up to outdoor courts and win in hot conditions, but he’s shown to be very promising under a roof.
Towards the back end of last season, he made the final at Metz which came after wins over Wawrinka and Fritz at Basel.
Given the ripe age, and commitment to his craft, you can expect this lad to get better, and fast.
Bublik and Auger-Aliassime dominate the market in the bottom half, and I’d flat out be looking to back the Kazakh against them if I could.
