Short and sharp here with a small play I alluded to overnight.
In these conditions in Indian Wells (even with the forecast wind to drop), I am not sure Filip Krajinovic should be double figure odds against Daniil Medvedev. As I mentioned in the preview against Giron, I don’t generally like to jump in on Krajinovic unless he is a decent sized underdog, as is the case here at double figures. He has the game to match it and frustrate Medvedev, as shown by a 3 set win and a 5 set loss through their meetings in 2019 and 2020.
Obviously an exceptionally large amount of water has gone under the bridge since then, as Medvedev is edging towards the number 1 spot. That 5-setter in Australia did come during the Russian’s impressive winning streak though. I have Krajinovic rated in the $6.50 range here, so whilst I still have Medvedev as the overwhelming favourite in this match-up, I am happy to take the price on off for Krajinovic, as he looks to knock Medvedev out of another Indian Wells tournament.
