Just a quick preview here, with this match starting in a few hours. It has been a long time coming, however I think I am finally in a position where I can somewhat trust Dmitry Popko, and his price seems value at the same time.
Popko can be a difficult watch at times, but it looks as though the motivation to win has been there consistently over the last couple of tournaments. It has been a dominant run to the final here in Prague, with Popko notching up straight set wins over Vatutin, Oliveira, Bonadio and Mena on the way to the final. What has been particularly impressive has been the way in which he has won so comfortably, whilst delivering a pretty average first serve percentage. There is rooom for improvement in his level, which is part of the appeal in his price today.
Czech wildcard Dalibor Svrcina has put together a very impressive week of tennis in his home country, with wins over Skatov, Menendez, Furness and Forejtek to reach the final. Conversely to Popko, Svrcina has been able to put together a high first serve percentage through his last three matches, whilst still facing 28 break point chances across the course of those wins. It has been an impressive week from the Czech, however I do have question marks around his form stacking up to Popko in his current form. I will be taking Popko at the moneyline for 1 unit.
1 unit Popko to defeat Svrcina at $1.75 at Topsport
