Steve’s ATP Munich Preview: Millman vs Pella

Posted on

This is a real rinse and repeat job from my preview the other day backing Pella versus Gerasimov. Whilst we weren’t afforded a winner that day (due to Gerasimov retiring after losing 8 games in a row), there are definite signs that Guido Pella is continuing to build this clay season. He will find himself in more rallies today against Millman, however I don’t foresee that as a major issue.

I opposed Millman at a large handicap a couple of weeks ago in Monte Carlo, and I cannot say there is a lot in his formlines that is giving me cause for concern. He was able to save 13/15 break point opportunities against Alexei Popyrin, facing break points across 6 different service games, so I would anticipate that Pella should be able to find his way into return games on a semi regular basis.

For Pella to be north of $1.70 on short term and medium term form looks value for mine, and I am happy to back him in for 2 units.

Suggested Bet

2 units Pella to defeat Millman at $1.72 at Bet365
