ATP Dubai Preview: Nishikori vs Harris

Posted on

The only major question mark I have here for Kei Nishikori is his overall fitness, now backing up for the third match of the week. It is a good problem to have for Nishikori, as this now means that he is starting to string together wins again at the top level.

The consistency in the game of Nishikori puts him right in the sweet spot of the type of player I do feel as though Lloyd Harris does still struggle with. Harris’ game is largely based around his serve, however the lack of weakness on either wing for Nishikori makes it harder for Harris’ to attack a side with as much confidence as you can against many other players on tour.

I had Nishikori pegged as $1.70 here, so to have him as an ever-so-slight favourite appeals here. I think there has been too much of an overreaction of the Harris wins over Thiem and Krajinovic, and I am happy to be against the South African today. If Nishikori maintains his level of the last fortnight, as he continues to build in his return, then he wins today.

Suggested Bet

1.5 units Nishikori to defeat Harris at $1.87 at Topsport
