I will keep this one short, and keep the staking low since we haven’t seen Madison Keys on tour yet for 2021.
I wasn’t originally looking to get involved in Keys match to match this tournament, however having her open as an underdog to Bencic coming off the quick back-up from Adelaide is hard to pass up here. There wasn’t a physical issue that caused Keys to miss the Australian swing, it was a COVID diagnosis meaning she couldn’t get onto the plane to Melbourne. From all reports she seems to be okay physically, and in these conditions in Doha looks to be a threat.
Had Bencic beaten more significant opposition in Adelaide I would have probably thought twice about this one, however Doi, Sanders and Gauff aren’t of the power level or level of Keys overall. It was a step in the right direction, but the quick turnaround from Adelaide to Doha is not going to be easy for her, especially given Keys is likely to dictate the majority of points today.
Just the 1.5 unit selection here, however Keys shouldn’t be an underdog in this match-up in these situational conditions.
