Blinkova vs Bolsova (Approx 08:30pm AEST)
Short and sweet here, as I will again go with the player who I believe has displayed better form on clay over a large sample size.
I was thrilled with the fighting effort from Aliona Bolsova in her first round match with Alison Riske. She faced a match point in set 2, was down a break in set 3, and still managed to overcome the American with a 5-7 7-6 6-3 victory in just under three hours. She generated more break points for the match, and the consistency in her game behind both her first and second serves put her in a good place to progress in what was a very tight match.
Bolsova has a lot more power in her game than Jil Teichmann, who found herself to be overwhelmed by Anna Blinkova in the first round. Whilst Blinkova was able to progress 6-3 6-3, there is some cause for concern when you consider she won only 6/23 points behind her second serve for the match. She is unlikely to see as many break point opportunities on the serve of Bolsova today, so for me that is a big concern in this match.
I have Bolsova marked at $1.60 here, so to be getting $1.80+ here looks to be a nice price, that I am happy to take for 1.5 units.
