Jarry’s exit cost me a total of three units on Saturday, but I feel good about both outright bets as the market strongly sided with me as the week progressed.
With a +2.8% PoT, I’m content with the reads lately and hope to continue to make improvements on the day-to-day singles front.
Feisty Frenchman Corentin Moutet will look to knock out another Chilean on Friday after disposing of Jarry in the quarter finals.
Moutet is not only someone who performs well at plus money but anecdotally strikes me as an individual who loves playing in hostile environments when the crowd is against him.
He had a frosty handshake with Jarry after the 7-6, 7-6 win, and you can believe he will be more motivated than normal when he takes on Tabilo.
While Tabilo is one of my favourite players on the tour – and has generally been a cash cow for me – he is capable of turning in sloppy performances.
The quarter-finals win over Darderi was impressive, but there’s a general query about the Italian’s fatigue levels after what’s been a brutal golden swing.
When Moutet is interested – which he should be tomorrow – he is extremely difficult to break down.
The altitude here gives his shots a little more value, and he’s simply an incredible shot maker and very hard to deal with.
Tabilo will likely be stretched from corner to corner, and I think it’s worth a poke at the underdog given the current quota.
