I will admit that I haven’t been the biggest fan of Patrick Kypson when he left Texas A&M to become a pro after just one year at university. The American then had to deal with a recurring elbow injury. Arriving in 2024 and finally fit, Kypson is living up to his potential. The now 24-year-old just won the title at the Cleveland Challenger two weeks ago and only lost to Arthur Cazaux (led 6-3 6-6 *4-1), Alejandro Tabilo (tournament winner that week) and Emil Ruusuvuori (whom he almost took to five sets at the Australian Open) this year. Against Constant Lestienne, Kypson gets a huge opportunity to reach his first tour-level quarterfinal. His French opponent had to retire last week in Dallas and sometimes struggles with motivation. The market is slowly moving towards Kypson, but I think he’s value up until 1.80 (-125).
