The first match-up that catches my eye tomorrow is Linda Noskova to defeat Liudmila Samsonova. Samsonova looked to be running on empty when she had to play back to back matches a couple of days ago, ultimately only able to win 1 game in her finals match-up against Jessica Pegula. Linda Noskova has looked solid through qualifying, with wins over Frech and Parry on her way to the main draw. She wasn’t able to play in Canada last week due to her Prague finals appearance the week before, but the week off will certainly help her maintain her level coming into this one. Noskova was also competitive against Samsonova on the grass 6 weeks ago, so I’m more than comfortable making a play on her at the moneyline in this one in this situation.
The next preview is Caroline Wozniacki to defeat Varvara Gracheva. Muhc like my play opposing Cocciaretto yesterday, I do feel the last handful of performances from Gracheva have looked a little on the tired side, and this is a tough match-up given Wozniacki has shown she still has her defensive ability and court coverage at a level somewhat near her best. It is still early in the comeback, but I am comfortable making a small play on Wozniacki at the moneyline.
The final play is Carlos Alcaraz and Jordan Thompson over 19.5 games. Alcaraz was below his best last week, and found himself in tiebreaks against Shelton, Hurkacz and Paul, losing to the latter in a tight 3 set match. I’m interested to see how Alcaraz looks here from a US Open standpoint however at the current odds, I can also make a case for a small play on Thompson at the moneyline as well.
