A couple of small plays to kick off Miami qualifying.
First up is a double. I think the moneyline odds for both Harriet Dart to defeat Tatjana Maria and Petra Martic to defeat Christina McHale first up on court. Dart took a major step in the right direction in Indian Wells, making the 4th round as a qualifier. Maria has taken some steps forward this year with her performances at ITF level, however hasn’t yet found the level to match it consistently at WTA (qualifying) level of late. Martic took a significant step forward in terms of form over the last couple of tournaments, and I am not sure the only win in her last five matches against Jule Niemeier, who served for the match, is the best form leading into this one.
Speaking of Niemeier, I have her being too short against Storm Sanders, who has the style of play to be a major threat here for the German. I have Sanders rated $1.80 here, so worth a small play. I think a little too much has been read into the Harrison-beat-Sanders-but-then-Niemeier-beat-Harrison form in Monterrey a few weeks back, and the relatively humid conditions in Miami should suit the Australian.
Suggested Bets
0.75 units Sanders to defeat Niemeier at $2.11 at Topsport
0.75 units Dart ($1.54) and Martic ($1.33) to win at $2.04 at Topsport
