Vukic vs Gunneswaran (Tomorrow AEST)
I wanted to get this one out early as I see some value in the price of Prajnesh Gunneswaran.
I am not sure if it is a significant overreaction to Aleks Vukic’s win over Carlos Alcaraz, or a significant underrating of Gunneswaran’s ability on clay, however I am very surprised to see the Indian in excess of $3.50 in this match-up. Whilst he has struggled at times against players with more of a grinding style of clay tennis, I don’t mind this match-up against Vukic, who has a fantastic serve however doesn’t quite have all the attributes of a consistent claycourter at present.
Given the inconsistency in the game of Vukic on clay, he is far too short today in my opinion. The lack of tennis from Gunneswaran is my only drawback, however I am still happy to take him here for 1 unit at $3.50+.
