ATP US Open – Edmund vs Djokovic

Edmund vs Djokovic (Approx 03:30am AEST)

This play is a continuation of my preview from The Hub at Betfair

The more I look at this, the more this seems to big the big obstacle in the first week for Novak Djokovic., especially with this match scheduled to take place in the afternoon.

I have been on the sceptical side in terms of Djokovic’s neck issue, and general behaviour on court over the last week and a half. For Kyle Edmund to be $17+ in hot, and humid conditions forecast, looks to be worth a 0.75 unit selection. The roof may shut if the poor weather kicks in, but warm, humid indoors wouldn’t hinder Edmund as much as other players.

Edmund will play as if he has nothing to lose, as that is the best way to play Novak at the moment. Djokovic’s dropshot rate is on the higher side on the ATP tour, and Edmund appeared to be moving well late in his match against Bublik, and is comfortable at the net.

Worth a 0.75 unit selection in my opinion.

Note: There are a number of longer odds selections today, which I am comfortable to play with my bankroll and strict staking. If picking and choosing plays to follow, or after something with a higher win probability (albeit at a lower value price), you could play just the total posted at Betfair, or the + game handicap. I know my style is not for everyone, so adjust accordingly.

Suggested Bet

0.75 units Edmund to defeat Djokovic $18 at Topsport ($20+ at Betfair on the exchange)
