We have the 16 qualifying matches coming from Palermo in terms of top level competitive tennis for today. Just because tennis is back, it doesn’t mean there is any need to be compelled to make picks just for the sake of it.
With many players having no exposed form due to the lack of tennis over the last few months, I would tread carefully today. That being said, from what I have seen over the last few weeks and months, I would expect the following to occur today:
- L Samsonova to defeat L Tsurenko
- M Kostyuk to defeat V Tomova
- T Martincova to defeat L Kung
Given the odds are sitting in the $1.60’s for Samsonova and Kostyuk, and the $1.40 mark for Martincova, and game handicaps not widely available for qualifying matches, I may need to let these three pass.
Of the underdogs, the ones that appeal the most are L Arruabarrena and B Haas, however there doesn’t appear to be enough value for me to dive in.
